Dorlin joins IN2RACING for 2020 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB Season

James Dorlin has confirmed he will compete in the 2020 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season after agreeing a deal with leading outfit In2 Racing.

The BRDC Rising Star switches to the latest innovation on Porsche’s ‘Motorsport Pyramid’ after a race-winning campaign in the British GT Championship as part of McLaren’s esteemed Driver Development Programme.

That experience could prove crucial, with the new-for-2020 series based around the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Dorlin will race in the ‘Pro’ Class of the series.

In2 Racing’s strong reputation in a range of GT championships, including the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Sebring 12H and Le Mans’ support races, will also be crucial as the pairing look to forge a title-winning partnership.

For 2020, Dorlin welcomes new sponsors in ASTA Tools and JDA Customs, as well as welcoming back Prototype Creative and Harlequin Teamwear for another season.

For its inaugural season, the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will feature on the support bills of both British GT and the BTCC, as well as MSVR events, providing the teams and drivers with a strong promotional platform, alongside an excellent, race-proven product.

Racing exclusively on the UK’s highest-profile and most-challenging circuits, the calendar takes the likes of Donington Park, Brands Hatch and Silverstone, among others.

The opening round of the 2020 season is this weekend (11-12 July) on Snetterton’s 300 circuit in Norfolk.

James Dorlin (#32) said:
“I’m pleased to confirm my place on the 2020 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB grid ahead of the season’s start this weekend at Snetterton.

“Having had a chance to sample the car for a couple of laps at Porsche’s Media Day before lockdown, I was impressed with the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport and I think it’ll produce some fantastic racing.

“It’s a race-proven product and one of the UK’s biggest manufacturers in motorsport, and with the calendar they’ve put together, I think it’s going to be an enjoyable season.

“I’m delighted to start this new chapter with In2 Racing and hopefully it’ll bring instant rewards.”

Nick Dudfield, Team Principal (In2 Racing) said:
"It's great to have James join us at In2 Racing ahead of our debut in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB.

"He's coming into the season with very little mileage - the car has only just been wrapped at JDA Customs and prepped this week - but with his track record, I'm sure he'll adapt quickly and we can start this new partnership with some strong results."
